08/10/20 - Week 1
Today, we went over the basics of PBR and the different maps/workflow included. I have used PBR in the past, especially in my summer project but it was good to confirm my understanding as PBR is very important in realistic texturing. We learnt about packing maps today, this was super useful as though we were introduced to it last year, I sort of didn't understand how it worked until today.
We also started the main task for this week, which I completed later on today. I think I struggled a little bit in trying to perfect these maps by using photoshop but I don't think it's too much of an issue considering that it would only be in rare circumstances that I would be creating a PBR texture this way. I only managed to put the one that we created in class into unreal since I cannot run it very well on my laptop, but I definitely have a strong understanding of how it would look if I were to actually render the textures.
