Project Recap

 26/11/20 - Week 8

Currently, my project isn't very close to be considered "finished". To summarise shortly, these are the things I still need to do:
  • Create & bake high poly models for the props, chairs, table, pots, watering can, wood etc.
  • Create a few more textures, peeling paint, firewood & cloth
  • Try to understand & fix the textile density
  • Bake the textures into substance painter
  • Create & place foliage
There isn't much narrative to the scene, though I wanted to create a comfortable & calm back garden that is aesthetically pleasing and has an industrial style to it. I think I have somewhat achieved this, and I am pleased with how the piece looks right now, though obviously you have to have some imagination to think about it with the foliage and the sand that I want on the uncovered half of the garden.
I think the main issue with the project that I am having right now is the lighting, I am finding it quite difficult to create good looking lighting as I don't really understand it. I do want the harsh shadow that I have right now, but I think it is making things too dark so I am still sort of trying to find a balance.

Overall, I have a lot to do still and I am quite confused with the process of some things so I will have to find this out to proceed properly.
